Vanessa is an economist from Universidad Iberoamericana with a specialization in impact investments and venture funds. She is currently a Principal at SP Ventures, where she leads new investments in Agro/Food and climate tech across Spanish Speaking LatAM. Her experience includes two key roles at Wayra Hispam, Telefónica Group’s corporate venture arm, where she formalized over 10 new investments and directed corporate venturing programs in collaboration with the IDB. She also spearheaded the global initiative Open2Metaverse Hispam, focused on metaverse, digital infrastructure, and Web 3.0 investments.
Before that, Vanessa began her career at her family’s business, DeBello Group, and took a bold step into venture capital as Investment Manager at GC Capital. She then served as Head of CVC & Investment Associate at LEAP Global Partners, a fund dedicated to narrowing the equity gap for Latino-founded startups in the U.S. Vanessa has focused her expertise on e-commerce, fintech, and emerging technologies, earning a spot as one of LAVCA’s Top 100 Women Investing in Latin America. She remains committed to supporting women-led, socially impactful companies with disruptive technologies
