Susana Garcia-Robles joined Capria Ventures in March 2020, first as a Venture Partner, becoming a Senior Partner in January 2021 and a Managing Partner in 2023. She brings to Capria 26+ years of experience being at the forefront of innovation, entrepreneurship and high-impact investing; building bridges between countries and regions to improve dynamic ecosystems worldwide and supporting high-growth entrepreneurship among women. At Capria Ventures, she focuses on Latam, Africa, and MENA. She is also a Senior Advisor of the Association for Private Capital Investment in Latin America (LAVCA), and the co-founder of three initiatives to improve gender diversification in the VC industry: WeXchange for women entrepreneurs (2012, now housed at the IDB Lab), Emprendedora LAC, and WeInvest Latam, for women in investment decision-making positions (2019). Her career in investing in VC funds and building entrepreneurial ecosystems started in 1999 when she joined the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), becoming the main architect of its investment strategy for Early-Stage funds and startups. During this time, she analyzed and coached thousands of seed and VC funds and startups in LAC and invested and managed USD 500m+ in 90 funds— many of them first-time fund managers, startups and grants related to building the entrepreneurial ecosystem. An avid supporter of ecosystems, she is a co-founder of the Argentinean VC/PE association ARCAP and the Colombian VC/PE association Colcapital. She serves on the Advisory Boards of the Argentinean VC/PE association ARCAP, the iThink.VC fund, PRODEM, the SEDF, the ABVCAP Committee of LPs, and the CITES company builder/fund, as well as the investment committee of the Bancoldex Fund of Funds (Colombia) and the Cofide Fund of Funds FCEI (Peru).
