Sandra Sainz

Sonen Capital, Managing Director

Sandra leads Sonen’s private investment strategies, where she holds a strategic role as key member of the investment decision process of the firm. She also participates in the Investment Committees of Sonen Capital and Latam Impact Fund.

Sandra has more than 25 years of financial industry experience, primarily as a banker and investor. Along her career she has had experience in the VC industry as Founder and Managing Partner of two VC Funds. Prior to joining Sonen Capital, she was Director of Investments for Promotora Social Mexico, a pioneer impact investor in Mexico. Sandra also held different positions in the financial sector, including working as a credit ratings analyst at S&P Global, in the investment banking industry, working at JP Morgan , and in equity and debt structuring at the IFC (private arm of the World Bank), where she was the Sector Leader for the Health and Education sectors for Mexico and Central America.

Sandra also has experience as a board member of companies in portfolios she managed, is a business mentor for early-stage founders in her networks, a member of the select group “Top Women Investing in Latin American Tech” of the Latin American Venture Capital Association and awarded as one of “The Top 50 Women Leaders of Miami” by WWA.

Sandra holds multiple degrees, including a Bachelor Degree in Public Accounting from the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico, and an Executive M.B.A. jointly issued by The University of Texas at Austin and the Tecnologico de Monterrey.
