Gabriela currently works as Director of Equity Investment at CAF’s Private Sector Vice Presidency. She joined CAF in September 2006 initially focused on financial advisory mainly for PPP schemes and privatizations, and since 2013 responsible for sourcing, structuring, and executing Private Capital investments, including diverse asset classes (private equity, venture capital, private debt, infrastructure) as well as direct and quasi equity investments. She was previously Director of Portfolio Management responsible for the management and monitoring of CAF´s structured financing and corporate finance portfolio, and the equity portfolio covering diverse sectors in the Latin American & the Caribbean regions.
Previously, she was Vice President at Santander Investments, sourcing and executing corporate finance and investment banking deals, including debt capital markets, and structured finance in diverse sectors. She also held a similar role for ABN AMRO Bank, ING Group, and HSBC.
Gabriela has over 29 years of cross-functional experience involving deal sourcing, due-diligence, as well as negotiation and execution of equity investments, financial advisory, structured financing, corporate finance, and extensive experience in managing relationships with clients in both private and public sectors throughout LATAM. Her role also has involved serving on the corporate governance bodies, including investment and advisory committees of various private equity and venture capital funds. As well as 4 years of experience in auditing / consulting at PwC.
Gabriela has a degree in Business Administration and Accounting from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello at Caracas, an MBA from New York University, Leonard N. Stern School of Business, and a Women on Boards Corporate Governance certification from The Business School, Harvard University, and a Corporate Governance certification from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania
