Claudia Martinez Ochoa is a seasoned investment professional with approximately 17 years of experience in the banking industry, spanning both equity and debt. She has been serving as Head of Private Equity for Latin America and Asia at PROPARCO since 2021 (part of the Agence Française de Développement Group), the French development bank focused on private sector investment, based in Paris. In this role, Claudia leads the structuring and management of private equity investments that advance two strategic goals: (i) climate action—including adaptation, resilience, and mitigation—and (ii) sustainable development, particularly in essential services such as healthcare, education, housing, and telecommunications across LatAm and Asia. Between 2016 and 2021, Claudia was active on the debt side as a Principal Investment Officer at the Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Services division (global team). Prior to joining PROPARCO, Claudia spent eight years as an Investment Officer at IDB Invest, where she focused on financing inclusive business models targeting the bottom of the pyramid across LatAm. Throughout her career, she has been driven by a strong commitment to leveraging finance as a tool to promote inclusive, sustainable growth. Claudia is Franco-Colombian, born in Bogota and currently based in Paris. She graduated First Class Honours from McGill University (B.A in Political Science/Economics) and pursued a Masters in Finance at Sciences po Paris.
