Marcelo Di Lorenzo and Rodrigo Galvão Form Atlântico Sul Capital Partners
17 April 2014
(Press Release) We are very pleased to announce the formation of Atlântico Sul Capital Partners, a new Brazilian private equity manager, established by 3i Brazil former partners Marcelo Di Lorenzo and Rodrigo Galvão.
Carlos Lopes, Diogo Yano, Felipe Vivacqua, Franklin Ma and Rafael Araujo are also joining us from 3i Brazil, bringing to the firm a cohesive team and strong capabilities to execute and monitor long-term investments successfully. Our team has over 50 years of combined private equity experience in the region, having recently invested in leading Brazilian eye-wear retailer Óticas Carol as well as the country’s second largest cable TV company Blue Interactive. 3i has appointed Atlântico Sul as its independent adviser for both investments.
We will continue to invest between US$15 million and US$75 million in medium-sized, high-quality Brazilian companies in sectors related to consumption and services. We are flexible in relation to our ownership stake, being either minority or majority shareholders, always supporting strong and aligned managers and entrepreneurs. It is our goal to add value through a solid partnership with our invested companies, bringing financial know-how, first-class governance practices and strategic insight. Our principles are guided by accountability, creativity, discipline, excellence and integrity. We strongly believe there is a unique opportunity to invest in the Brazilian middle market and look forward to discussing new business opportunities with you.
