Fintech Platforms Doubled in Latin America in Three Years

The Fintech ecosystem in Latin America and the Caribbean has experienced rapid growth in the last three years. Until 2021, 2,482 Fintech ventures were registered in the region, 112 percent more than those registered in 2018, according to data from the third edition of the report Fintech in Latin America and the Caribbean: a consolidated ecosystem for recovery .
The third version of the report published by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), IDB Invest and Finnovista, highlights the growth of the sector in the region and reveals that the number of registered ventures in Latin America and the Caribbean represent about 22.6 percent of the Fintech sector worldwide .
