EB Capital’s EB Fibra Acquires Vip Br Telecom for an Undisclosed Amount (em português

EB Capital, through its telecom infra arm EB Fibra, acquired Vip Br Telecom, a Brazil-based telecommunications provider, for an undisclosed amount.
(pontoisp) -The company EB Fibra, from the manager of Private Equity EB Capital, acquired Vip Br Telecom, a provider in the city of Mauá, in the interior of São Paulo. As a result, EB Capital’s portfolio includes: Sumicity, Mob Telecom, BR Supply, Loja do Mecânico, ESSA, Enferminas and Vip Br Telecom.
According to the company, Vip Br Telecom is the company in the group that should grow the most and investors intend to earn R$1 billion in 2021. “With its new structure in industrial-style buildings, millions have already been invested in equipment, technology, infrastructure and movements in the labor market, in April alone, more than 100 new employees were hired, and we should reach more than 1500 by the end of the year”, states EB Fibra, in a statement.
VIP is the fourth fiber optic telecommunications company in greater São Paulo, according to information from Anatel in terms of number of subscribers. Present in 5 of the 7 cities in the ABC, in Alto Tietê and in the East Zone.

In an interview with Tele.Síntese , Felipe Matsunaga , CFO of EB Fibra , and partner of the EB Capital fund, says that the group’s plans, after having raised R$1.5 billion, is to act nationally and become the first in market share of FTTH accesses (optical fiber in the home) until the end of the year, after the large operators.
The group’s trajectory began, in this segment, by buying the operator based in Carmo, in the interior of Rio de Janeiro, Sumicity , and, last year, Mob Telecom, in Ceará. These two companies are the leaders of the group’s regional structures, which also opens a regional one in the southern region of the country and another in São Paulo, where the Sumicity team , including the CEO, Fábio Abreu, was transferred to .
“ We have a North/Northeast Region, led by Mob and other companies that are in the pipeline to be invested/acquired. The Southeast Region, led by Sumicity , where we are growing the backbone outside the original area of Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo. We made a recent investment in a company in São Paulo, called Vip Telecom, which is located in the city of Mauá. This investment was also made by Sumicity . And we created another regional for the South Region. But we will have another regional, exclusively focused on the São Paulo market, which is very large. And the team that was playing Sumicity has already moved to São Paulo”, says the executive.
