Colony Latam Partners Plans to Invest US$5b in Latin America

Colony Latam Partners formerly Abraaj’s Latin America subsidiary, plans to invest $5b in Latin America over the next 3-4 years. $1b will be invested in private equity, $500m each in clean energy and credit, and the rest in real estate. Half of the total investments will be dedicated to Mexico.
(WSJ) Investment-management firm Colony Capital Inc. said its newly acquired business in Latin America seeks to invest $5 billion in the region in coming years, much of it in Mexico.
Los Angeles-based Colony Capital in April closed the acquisition of troubled Dubai-based Abraaj Group’s private-equity platform in Latin America, renaming it Colony Latam Partners while keeping the firm’s senior management team.
