Venture Partners Mexico Announces it Closed a Deal with Médica Santa Carmen

(Press Release) Venture Partners Mexico announces it closed a deal with Médica Santa Carmen S.A.P.I. de C.V. becoming the lead investor of a round amounting to MX$12.75m (USD$1m as of June 13, 2013).
“Santa Carmen has a great potential in our country and we are delighted to add such a company to our portfolio”, said Federico Antoni, Co-Founder of Venture Partners Mexico.
Médica Santa Carmen is a state-of-the-art network of integral care centers for patients with kidney failure by providing hemodialysis treatment, outpatient, nutrition, psychology and other services. Operating its first clinic since December 2011, Santa Carmen has performed over 16,000 treatments with a zero mortality rate during sessions.
Until now, the company had been financed entirely by the two partners. “The amount raised will allow quadrupling our access to patients”, said Andrés Gutiérrez, founder and CEO of Santa Carmen. With this round of capitalization, Clinics II and III currently under construction will be able to launch towards the end of 2013.
Venture Partners Mexico is a pioneering Early & Venture Capital Fund investing in highly disruptive start-ups in Mexico. As of today, the Fund has made eleven investments in the mobility, financial, e-commerce and health services industries. Venture Partners Mexico was founded and is run by Fernando Lelo de Larrea and Federico Antoni.
