Nexxus Capital Announces the Final Closing of its Fourth Fund

(Nexxus Capital) October 28, 2010 – Nexxus Capital announced today the final closing of its fourth private equity fund (“Nexxus Capital IV”), raising an additional MXN 1,174 million via “Capital Development Certificates (“CKD´s” by its initials in Spanish)”. With this final issuance Nexxus Capital IV raised a total of MXN $2,640 million (approximately US$210 million) through “CKD´s” which are listed in the Mexican Stock Exchange (Ticker BMV: NEXXCK 10). Banco Santander and Bank of America Merrill Lynch acted as underwriters.

During the following weeks Nexxus Capital will maintain its focus on raising the fifth fund (“Nexxus Capital V”) an Ontario based Limited Partnership mainly focused on foreign institutional investors, which will invest jointly with Nexxus IV based on the available capital of each fund.

The aggregate capital raised from both funds (Nexxus Capital IV and Nexxus Capital V) is expected to be between US$300 and US$350 million. Both funds will invest in middle sized Mexican companies, seeking to maximize their value via their institutionalization, improvement of administrative policies and an organic growth complemented with acquisitions.

Nexxus Capital is actively seeking investment opportunities in the healthcare, tourism, housing, specialty retail, and consumer products and services sectors, among others.

Nexxus Capital was founded in Mexico City in 1995 and since its inception it has become the largest Mexican private equity manager and one of the most successful private equity fund managers in Latin America. With this fourth fund, Nexxus has raised more than US$550 million from Mexican and foreign investors to invest in Mexican companies. In addition Nexxus Capital has managed roughly US$110 million of co-investments in its portfolio companies. Among the most relevant investments of Nexxus Capital are Homex (Ticker BMV: HOMEX*, NYSE: HXM), Genomma Lab Internacional (Ticker BMV: LABB) and Grupo Sports World, the most recent company listed in the Mexican Stock Exchange (Ticker BMV: SPORTS).
