Citi Venture Capital International Invests $400M in TGI

(Bloomberg) December 17, 2010 – Empresa de Energia de Bogota SA, Colombia’s second-biggest electricity transporter, jumped the most in three months, climbing to a record, after saying Citigroup Inc. will buy a stake in its gas distribution company.
EEB, as the company is known, rallied 2.9 percent to 163,100 pesos at the close of trading at 1 p.m. New York time, extending this year’s advance to 37 percent.
Citigroup’s Citi Venture Capital International unit will invest $400 million to hold 31.9 percent of Transportadora de Gas del Internacional SA, EEB said in a regulatory statement.
