Actis Acquires 197MW Wind Projects in Brazil

Actis has purchased the right to build 197MW wind projects in the northeastern Brazilian region, Serra Branca in Rico Grande do Norte state. The acquisition was made through Actis’ Brazilian subsidiary Echoenergia for an undisclosed amount.
(BN Americas) British private equity firm Actis has acquired bought from France’s Voltalia the right to build 197MW of wind projects in the northeastern Brazilian region known as Serra Branca in Rio Grande do Norte state.
The acquisition was made through Actis’ Brazilian subsidiary Echoenergia and is part of a 500MW partnership between the firms. The agreement allows Echoenergia to have access to Voltalia’s sites that are ready for construction of wind projects.
Voltalia already operates 309MW in power generation capacity in the Serra Branca region and has another 231MW to be built in the Serra Branca cluster and around 2GW of projects under development.
Echoenergia currently operates 700MW of wind power generation projects in Rio Grande do Norte, Bahia, Pernambuco, and Ceará states.
