(PEHub) Warburg Pincus has hired Piero Minardi as a managing director in the firm’s São Paulo office. Previously, Minardi served as a partner at Brazilian investment firm Gávea Investimentos.

São Paulo and New York, November 11, 2014 – Warburg Pincus (“the firm”), a leading global private equity firm focused on growth investing, today announced the appointment of Piero Minardi as a Managing Director in the São Paulo office. Mr. Minardi will work with the Brazil team to identify, evaluate and manage investments in Brazil and across Latin America.

Mr. Minardi brings more than 30 years of private market experience in the region, having held senior positions in private equity, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and management consulting. Most recently, he was a Partner at Gávea Investimentos, a leading Brazilian investment management firm. Mr. Minardi has also held positions with Darby Overseas Investments, Baring Private Equity Partners and AIG Capital Partners. He also served as Director of M&A at Grupo Bunge, covering Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Venezuela and the United States. Mr. Minardi has served as a Board Member of the Emerging Market Private Equity Association (EMPEA) since 2012, and holds a B.S. in Mining Engineering from the Polytechnical School of the University of São Paulo (Poli-USP) and an MBA from INSEAD (France).
