The Association for Private Capital Investment in Latin America (LAVCA) Announces New Appointments to Board of Directors

New York, September 24, 2018 – LAVCA, newly renamed the Association for Private Capital Investment in Latin America, today announced the appointment of four new directors to the Board; Fernando Borges, Managing Director of The Carlyle Group, Michael Harrington, Partner at Actis, Jose Sosa de Valle, Partner at Lexington Partners, and Nicolas Szekasy, Co-Founder & Managing Partner, KaszeK Ventures.

“We are delighted to welcome such high caliber investors to our Board,” said Cate Ambrose, President & Executive Director of LAVCA. “Today, the mix of global investors with an active presence on the ground in Latin America includes sector and strategy specialists which are a reflection of the growing maturity of the market.”

Directors completing terms in September 2018 are Francisco Alvarez-Demalde, Founder & Managing Partner at Riverwood Capital, Scott Voss, Managing Director of HarbourVest Partners, Martín E. Díaz Plata, Managing Partner of Capital Group Private Markets, and Hernan Kazah, Co-Founder & Partner of KaszeK Ventures.

LAVCA’s Board of Directors will convene on September 24th in New York City to kick off LAVCA Week 2018, the organization’s annual investor meeting designed exclusively for the Latin American private capital community.
