LAVCA Announces Official Launch With VC Industry Seminar In Milan

LAVCA ANNOUNCES OFFICIAL LAUNCH WITH LAVCA/MIF SEMINAR ON BUILDING THE VC INDUSTRY IN LATIN AMERICA.

Event To Be Held In Milan on March 22nd In Conjunction With 2003 IDB Annual Meetings

January 16, 2003 — The Latin American Venture Capital Association is proud to announce its official launch event, the LAVCA/MIF Seminar on Building the VC Industry in Latin America. The seminar, organized jointly with the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF) will be held in Milan, Italy, on March 22nd, 2003, in conjunction with the 2003 Annual Meetings of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). The event is expected to draw senior managers from leading investment funds and high-level government officials. The event will provide an exclusive opportunity for participants to engage in substantive discussions with the industry’s key players about the issues affecting the venture capital industry in Latin America.

Participants in our unique seminar will be entitled to attend the IDB Seminar on SME Finance held March 21st-22nd. In registering for this seminar, participants will additionally receive credentials for the IDB Annual Meetings held the 24th-26th of that month, gaining access to the Fiera Milano Convention Center and relevant meetings.

Participants in the LAVCA/MIF Seminar can expect a stimulating day of high-powered, exclusive roundtable and panel discussions with key players in the industry, as well as ample opportunity to network among the executive decision-makers of leading investment funds and governmental entities. High profile industry representatives will serve as keynote speakers, setting the stage for rigorous debate. Topics of discussion include the State of Venture Capital in Latin America, Legal and Regulatory Issues, and State of the Art in Deal Structures. A lengthy luncheon sponsored by the MIF will conclude the event, providing closure to session discussions and invaluable time for informal reflection and Q&A with industry peers.
