Open English Taps $65M for Language Instruction

(DowJones) In one of the largest deals of its kind, online language instruction company Open English LLC has raised $65 million to continue its breakneck expansion, VentureWire has learned.
Technology Crossover Ventures led the pre-emptive Series D round at a valuation just south of $350 million. The infusion comes a few weeks after language-learning heavyweight Rosetta Stone Ltd . acquired LiveMocha Inc . to bolster its online offering and represents the latest in a string of startups leveraging video technology and Internet connectivity to rewrite the way people learn new tongues (More available at DowJones)
