EB Capital Acquires 55% Stake in Brazilian E-Commerce Platform Loja do Mecânico for R$550m

EB Capital has acquired a 55% stake in Brazil-based e-commerce platform for tools and machines Loja do Mecânico for R$550m. The transaction reportedly brings the company’s valuation to R$1b.
(Global Legal Chronicle) The private equity firm EB Capital executed the acquisition of 55% stake in Loja do Mecânico, Brazil-based e-commerce of tools and machines owned by the Gurgel family. The transaction evaluates Loja do Mecânico at about BRL 1bn. The deal value was estimated at BRL 550m.
Loja do Mecânico is mainly aimed at workshops, carpentry service providers, renovations and equipment maintenance. The company grows an average of 30% per year and will close the year with revenues of BRL 800m. The family will remain with 45% of the company.
Veirano Advogados advised the sellers on the transaction with a team including Sergio Bronstein (Picture), Vanessa Felicio and Paula Bobrow.
