Brookfield Asset Management to Acquire 62% of Oaktree Capital Management

Canadian asset management firm, Brookfield Asset Management, will acquire a majority stake in Oaktree Capital Management. The two businesses will continue to operate independently. Oaktree’s co-chairman, Howard Marks, will join the board of directors at Brookfield.
(Private Debt Investor) Brookfield Asset Management will acquire a majority stake in fellow alternatives manager Oaktree Capital Management, the firms announced today.
