Brazil’s Itau Unibanco Private-Equity Unit Plans Acquisition This Year

(Wall Street Journal) The private-equity arm of Brazil’s giant bank Itaú Unibanco Holdings SA has its eye on another acquisition this year, and is planning its first dollar-denominated fund for local and overseas investors.
The bank is joining the trend of looking for investments beyond the traditional business and industrial centers, where growth has slowed in recent years.
