BR Partners Invests Up to BRL100m in Brazil’s PetCamp

(Brazil Journal) A BR Partners private equity fund is buying a relevant minority stake in PetCa1np, a network of 31 petshops that was born in Ca1npinas and operates in the interior of Sao Paulo.
The fund -FIP BR Partners Pet – has raised funds fro111 a pool of investors, including retail, ecommerce and marketing entrepreneurs. BR Partners itself also entered as a minority shareholder in the fund, investing proprietary capital.
The investn1ent could reach R$ 100 million and will be made over the next few years: the Leite family, the founders of PetCamp, will draw in capital as needed.
PetCamp is “the latest asset with scale that can serve as an expansion platform in the pet market,” Jefferson Kasa, the head of private equity at BR Partners, told the Brazil journal. “‘And she has a blue ocean to grow.”
