(PEHUb) Wanderu, a Boston-based travel search engine, providing the simplest way to find and book bus and train travel, announced it has raised US$5.6m in a Series A round of financing from Metamorphic Ventures, Alta Ventures, 500 Startups and others.

Wanderu, a Boston-based travel search engine, providing the simplest way to find and book bus and train travel, announced today that it has raised US$5.6m in a Series A round of financing. Metamorphic Ventures led the over-subscribed investment round with participation from existing and new investors, including Alta Ventures, Craig Lentzsch (former CEO of Greyhound), 500 Startups, Barbara Corcoran Venture Partners, John Balen and Brad Feld, among others.

Wanderu plans to leverage the new round of funding to continue its expansion throughout North America, adding more destinations and carriers to its already impressive roster of partnerships, launch mobile apps, and roll-out new solutions to further improve the overall travel experience.
