December 3, 2009 – The Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF), a Venture Capital fund managed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), will invest U$S 5 million into Burrill Brazil Fund, a PE fund managed by Burrill that will buy stakes of biotech companies in the country.

US-based Amyris Biotechnologies has raised US$41.8mn to continue its plans to reach industrial scale production in the US and Brazil, including a plant in Campinas, in São Paulo state, to produce renewable chemicals and diesels, the company said in a statement.
